Privacy Policy

Hoopow (“we”, “us”) operates a sports platform where you can book venues, find games and teammates, and keep score. This policy explains what information we collect and how we use it.

Information we collect

• Account details: name, email, optional phone and city, and password (stored hashed).
• Booking data: courts, dates, times, payment method (cash at venue), and status.
• Community data: player profile, sports, games, teams, tournaments, and play requests you create or join.
• Scorecards for games you score.
• Shop orders if you use the in-app shop (catalog items and cash-on-delivery details).
• Device data for push notifications (Expo push token), when you allow notifications.
• Approximate location only when you grant permission and use nearby venue, game, or player sorting (foreground / when-in-use; we do not track you in the background).
• Reviews and favorites you create in the app.

How we use information

• To create and manage your account and role (player, facility owner, or admin).
• To process bookings, games, teams, scorecards, and (if used) shop orders, and to notify you of related events.
• To show maps and nearby venues, games, and players when you use those features.
• To moderate listings, community content, and reviews and keep the platform safe.
• To improve reliability (including optional crash/error reporting when enabled).

Sharing

Venue owners see booking details needed to host your session. Teammates, game hosts, and tournament organisers may see profile details needed to play together. We do not sell personal data. We may share data with infrastructure providers solely to run the service, including: hosting (e.g. Railway), database (MongoDB), push delivery (Expo), maps (Google Maps), and optional crash reporting (Sentry) when configured.

Payments

Soft launch bookings are paid in cash at the venue. We do not process card or wallet payments at this time, so we do not store card numbers.

Retention

We keep account, booking, and community records while your account is active and as needed for dispute handling and legal obligations.

Account deletion

You can delete your account in the Hoopow app under Profile → Delete Account. Deletion removes your account profile data, cancels your confirmed bookings, hides your reviews, and (for facility owners) removes your venues from public listing. Children

Hoopow is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
